São Sebastião
Located on the northern coast of São Paulo, the city of São Sebastião is located between Caraguatatuba and Bertioga. It's a 3 hour drive from São Paulo and it's geography provides to the visitors 28 different beaches as well as some nice waterfalls and rainforest tracks in the park of "Serra do mar".
Barra do Sahy is located on the southern coast of São Sebastião and is one of it's 28 beaches.
Barra do Sahy is good!
The quiet fisherman village is still the essence of Barra do Sahy, even though tourism is it's main activity now. Barra do Sahy has many summerhouses, small hotels and charming inns, a few restaurants and grocery shops. It's a very welcoming place for families and for those in search of tranquility. The beach is it's major attraction. In one of the corners there is a track to a natural swimming pool, perfect for a diving or a relaxed swim along a big rock, excellent for watching the sunset or just contemplating the landscape. The horizon is a special attraction! At about 1500 meters distant, right in front of it's bay, there is "As ilhas", an island that looks like two and has two great little bays. A boat ride with one of the local fishermen is a wonderfull activity!
Our property is located on the chapel hill of Barra do Sahy.
The chapel hill
Facing the ocean, the chapel hill is on your left, by the Sahy River. Even though it doesn't look like it, there are many summerhouses there. To get there you must park the car on the end of Maria Caetana street and take a 200 meter track up the hill. The housekeeper helps to carry the luggage using a motorcycle with a cart attached to it. Once you are there it's very easy to go to the beach: you can simply go down the stairs that lead to the river (very easy to cross on low tide), or you can go down the track and take the romantic pedestrian bridge from the chapel.
